Shanghai, Virtual Field Trip: Global MBA Luxury Brand Management

This month the ESSEC GMBA-  Luxury Brand Management track enjoyed Part 2 of the Virtual Field Trek to Shanghai and met with members of the team at Kering China and Asia Pacific. 

It was an exclusive experience that provided an in-depth look at one of the key powerhouses in the luxury industry. The conference started with a dynamic presentation from HR on the company, its values, and its stable of brands.  

This was followed by a presentation on the trailblazing work Kering is doing in innovation and sustainability. We were than given the opportunity to pose questions to various speakers on the panel and it was encouraging to learn more about their work and to discover the myriad of opportunities available at Kering Asia Pacific. 

To close the session, we met with an ESSEC MBA Int’l Luxury Brand Management alumna who shared her own journey of success with Saint Laurent at Kering, first in Shanghai and now in Singapore, who explained how she began as Retail Operations Manager and after 2 years moved on to a position as Store Director where today she manages a team of 22.

All in all, it was an inspiring opportunity to learn about Kering’s company culture and the possibilities that await us when the MBA program comes to a close in September.
